• More than 200 breweries worldwide, including Southern California staples like Angel City Brewery, Firestone Walker, and Highland Park Brewery, are collaborating on ‘We Love LA,’ a special beer line supporting wildfire relief efforts. 126TH ANNUAL GOLDEN DRAGON PARADE

CHINATOWN 🐉 GOLDEN DRAGON PARADE

• SATURDAY: The 126th Annual Golden Dragon Parade, a vibrant celebration of the Lunar New Year, will take place this Saturday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in Los Angeles' Chinatown Central Plaza at 950 N. Broadway. This historic event, postponed from its usual date due to January fires, marks the Year of the Snake and is one of L.A.'s oldest traditions. Attendees can enjoy lion dancers, live performances, dance troupes, and music groups. While the event is free to attend, grandstand tickets are available for $50. With over 100,000 spectators expected, public transportation is recommended.

BURBANK 🫒 EAST OLIVE

• The City of Burbank will begin the East Olive Reconfiguration Restriping Project this upcoming Monday - Thursday, adjusting lane striping on Olive Avenue between Glenoaks Blvd. and Sunset Canyon Dr. to enhance safety and better integrate with the residential area. The project will widen on-street parking spaces while slightly narrowing the center turn lane, maintaining the same number and width of travel lanes. Work will occur from 7:00am to 4:00pm, with temporary lane closures and shifts expected. 💌

LA 2028 🏅 KENDRICK LAMAR

• Kendrick Lamar is now rumored to play a major role in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Casey Wasserman, chairman of LA28, hinted at Lamar’s involvement, calling him an ‘LA icon’ and a likely choice for the event’s opening ceremony. • The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is now accepting entries for the 2025 Student Academy Awards, with a submission deadline of May 18th. This year’s ceremony, presented in partnership with Rolex, will take place at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York during the New York Film Festival on October 6th. Notably, the competition is expanding eligibility to include certificate program students, and schools no longer need accreditation for participation. RENDERING OF NEW MALIBU SKATE PARK

MALIBU 🛹 SKATE PARK

• Malibu is set to begin construction on a permanent 12,500-square-foot skate park on Pacific Coast Hwy, replacing its temporary facility. Approved with a $4.1m budget, the park—designed by California Skateparks with community input—will feature stairs, rails, a flow bowl, quarter pipes, and more to accommodate all skill levels. Built by C.S. Legacy Construction, Inc., it aims to foster a healthy, active community while embracing Malibu’s skate culture. Completion is expected by fall 2025, with a park name to be determined in the coming months.

APPLE’S NEW CULVER CITY CAMPUS STARTS TO RISE

The phased construction plan prioritizes the Los Angeles side first, followed by Culver City. BOEING WINS F-47 NEXT GEN CONTRACT

BOEING 🛫 NEXT-GEN AIR DOMINANCE

• Boeing $BA ( ▲ 4.76% ) has secured a pivotal contract to develop the U.S. Air Force's Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) fighter jet, set to replace Lockheed Martin's F-22 Raptor. This sixth-generation aircraft will feature advanced stealth capabilities, state-of-the-art sensors, and cutting-edge engines. The engineering and manufacturing development phase of the contract is valued at over $20bn, with potential future orders reaching into the hundreds of billions over its multi-decade lifespan. Boeing's longstanding presence at U.S. Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale positions the company to significantly contribute to the region's aerospace industry through this contract. Plant 42 has historically been a hub for major aerospace projects, including the assembly of the Space Shuttle Orbiters.
